Couplemate Trailer Parts LLC has purchased the Patent for the Couplemate Trailer Hitch Guide from Austvent Pty Ltd for an undisclosed sum.
Austvent Pty Ltd is located in Toowoomba, near Brisbane Australia. Roland Thompson from Austvent, invented the trailer hitch guide with 20 year Full Patents and Trademarks in Australia, Canada and the USA.
Details of the sale are confidential however, it is public knowledge Austvent sold all past and future rights in relation to all Patents and Trademarks.
‘It is strategically important that the LLC to be able to offer great deals in the US marketplace. The savings we can bring into the market place with good deals and new products will benefit retail buyers” Mr. Steve Wotherspoon, President of the LLC said.
Pricing structure is our most important issue with major buyers. We have seen major buyers not getting full benefit of a good discount structure. Comprehensive structures may have been abandoned in favor of a one price suits most buyers. This policy may not good for major buyers and could fragment the marketplace.
We fully expect to offer larger customers discounts for internet product exposure, volume, road tests, premium in store placement, catalog, catalog specials, internet video exposure and a range of other discounts that may to tailored to suit buyers.
The Patent purchase was essential for the LLC because the patent provides a platform for a range of other products. The key to the patent is the base plate and we will strenuously defend patent breaches of this part of our patent.
We are currently in production with a range of products we cannot yet disclose due to patent applications being finalized.
